Leading a youth group is no easy task!

You devote so much time and energy to planning activities, preparing halaqas, and finding creative ways to keep your group of kids interested while still learning.

As a former youth group leader - I know the struggle.

These two worksheets were originally developed for a pre-Ramadan workshop for youth and young adults in my community. They can be used as an activity for middle school, high school, and college-aged Muslim youth groups.

Ramadan Goals Worksheet

Muslim children and teens may not know where to start when it comes to setting Ramadan goals. They might have a gigantic list, extremely lofty goals, or very generic goals that think they "should" set. This worksheet is a way to prompt kids to self-reflect and set realistic and specific goals for Ramadan.

It is an activity best accompanied by a halaqa that discusses one or more of the following talking points:

  • Setting SMART goals
  • Ramadan as a time for self-reflection and self-accountability
  • What kind of person do you want to be after Ramadan? What can you do every day to become that person?
  • Doing the best you can and trusting in Allah to help you achieve your goals

Ramadan Duas Worksheet

In my experience, many Muslim kids struggle with coming up with duas specific to them. This worksheet is meant to give them an opportunity to reflect on what they want to ask Allah (SWT) for in Ramadan and go into the blessed month with a list they can refer to. One dua every child can include is to ask Allah (SWT) to help them achieve their Ramadan goals.

This worksheet can be accompanied with a halaqa on one or more of the following:

  • the etiquette of dua
  • how Allah (SWT) answers our dua
  • no dua is impossible for Allah (SWT)

Inshaallah you find this resource beneficial!

About Me

My name is Farah and I am a Muslim and Palestinian artist and poet. From gel pens and glitter glue to acrylics and printing presses, I've been making art almost as long as I've been alive. My art exists somewhere between occasional hobby and dedicated craft. I might go months without creating anything, but I look at the world around me through "art colored glasses." I'm inspired by the lone tree I catch a glimpse of at sunset, the blue jay peeking in my window, and the stacks of books perched around my room. Sometimes I just like to play with colors and textures, but most of the time I create because of the connections I draw between the minutiae of life and the deeply held values that guide me. I share my creations with you in the hope that the things I make add a little bit of color and joy to your life.
